About Programmatic Design
Programmatic Design is a project by Sophinauta — a software company that builds pragmatic tools using cutting-edge technology and offers AI solution architecture consultancy to small and medium companies. This site is the direct result of what we learned automating editorial workflows for a client in 2025.
While doing AI consultancy work, we ran a full automation project for a publishing client. The gap was clear: an editorial team spending most of their production time on repetitive InDesign tasks that scripting could eliminate. Programmatic Design packages those solutions for anyone running the same workflows.
The philosophy is simple: a script should do exactly one thing, do it reliably, and handle edge cases gracefully. If it wouldn't survive a real production environment, it doesn't go in the library.
